Dear heart, you rock! Truly! (Thanks for the video with description.) I work with a wonderful organization called Access Israel, whose mission is to create accessibility, but not only of the physical kind. The one thing that we try to remind people is that all it takes is one misstep, one fall down the stairs, one sprained ankle, and your mobility too will be affected. It's never a problem until it affects you or someone you love, but that's not the way to think about it. It can happen to anyone, at any point. I'm not trying to be negative or frighten people, but accessibility benefits everyone. I really hope your suggestion is picked up and your friend, as well as others, will be able to enjoy this beautiful park. XX
Yeah, I think the expression that comes to mind is disability is the largest minority you can join at any time. Totally agree.
As to the grant, we have a good chance of getting it and seeing those trails come to be. We were contacted by the city's parks department to submit it after Liz Ann had spoken up about the issue at a city commission meeting. So we have other people championing it.
I'll write about it when we hear (probably the end of the month).
Thanks again for commenting. You're a rock star in my eyes! Hugs.
